On June 2–3, the Research Network on Productivity & Sustainability (Rede PP&S) held its 1st Annual Conference, bringing together Brazilian and international researchers to discuss cutting-edge research on productivity, climate change, agriculture, and environmental conservation. The program featured keynote lectures by Benjamin Olken (MIT), Rohini Pande (Yale University), and Jacob Moscona (MIT), who presented research on the impacts of climate change on deforestation, early warning systems for floods, and the role of agricultural research in Brazil’s economic development. The conference also included presentations by researchers from the PP&S Network and other institutions on topics such as forest conservation, solar energy, and climate adaptation, as well as a policy panel bringing together researchers and policymakers to discuss the challenges of promoting productivity and sustainability in Brazil.

The PP&S Network was launched on December 9, 2025, at Insper, during a workshop that brought together researchers, representatives from the private sector, and civil society organizations to discuss Productivity & Sustainability in Brazil.
The event featured a roundtable discussion titled “Productivity & Sustainability: An Agenda for Brazilian Development,” with the participation of Joaquim Levy, Beto Verissimo, and Marcelo Furtado, who addressed the main challenges and opportunities in aligning economic growth with sustainability in the country.
The program also included several research presentation sessions by Network members, fostering knowledge exchange and strengthening dialogue between academia and society.
